The Portuguese Army contingent to be deployed to Lebanon under the UNIFIL United Nations peace support operation is training at the Regimento de Infantaria Nº6 based in the northern city of Chaves. The force called UnEng7/FND/UNIFIL includes 141 soldiers to be deployed from November. A training exercise called SHAMA 092 has started on October 29 and will end on November 05.

The UnEng7 force is headed by Tenente-Coronel de Engenharia João Paulo de Almeida.
