Thales Australia Ltd has won the primary contract to provide hardware and software support services for a range of critical command and intelligence systems used by the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The five-year contract with the Defence Materiel Organisation’s Command and Intelligence Systems Support Office (CISSO) will involve managing and providing a complete package of support services across multiple mission systems that form part of the Joint Command Support Environment (JCSE).


During 2011, AgustaWestland will deliver two AW109 Power maritime helicopters to the Bangladesh Navy. The fleet will be used for a wide range of naval missions including search and rescue, economic zone protection, surface surveillance and maritime security.

Portuguese company Vinair Aeroserviços SA has ordered two Grand New helicopters to AgustaWestland. The fleet will be used to transport workers from and to oil and gas extraction platforms.

The company operates a single Dassault Aviation Falcon 7X jet and A109E light helicopter.

Oshkosh Defense has received an additional $640 Million order from the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command Life Cycle Management Command (TACOM LCMC) to deliver 1460 M-ATV (MRAP All Terrain Vehicle) Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. To date, the company has received awards valued at more than $4.74 Billion for 8079 M-ATVs.

Oshkosh Defense M-ATVs fleet are mainly armoured by the US subsidiary of Plasan Sasa Ltd and by Ceradyne Inc (sub-contracted by Plasan Sasa Ltd).

Allied Ordnance of Singapore Pte Ltd (part of Singapore Technologies Kinetics Ltd) will deliver a second batch of L70 NADM330 naval 40mm gun to the Brazilian Navy. The contract worth US$20.9 Million covers the supply of five units and an associated Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) package.

Each gun will be fitted on NaPa 500 (Navio Patrulha) patrol vessels being built by EISA-Estaleiro Ilha SA. Delivery will begin in the last quarter of 2011 and is expected to be completed by end 2013. Two units of 40mm naval gun with ILS package were ordered in 2007 for two INACE- Indústria Naval do Ceará SA built NaPa´s.

NaPa 500 is based on Vigilante 400 CL54 design from French Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie SA.

40mm L70 NADM330 naval gun features a full electric drive aiming system with brushless motors that enable quick and accurate target tracking.

Mexican Navy Marine Corps received 22 Land Rover Defender 130 light armoured vehicles in troop transport configuration. The unit previously received 84 Daimler AG G-Class 4×4 light tactical vehicles and 164 Daimler AG Unimog U-4000 4×4 light tactical trucks.

The Australian Ministry of Defence has contracted Swedish company SAAB Bofors Dynamics AB for the supply of additional M3 84mm Carl Gustaf anti-armour support weapons for $10.5 Million which includes the supply of weapons, spares and documentation. BAE Systems Australia Ltd will supply more than 400 enhanced AN/PAS-13C(V) thermal sighting system for the weapons under a approximately $16 Million  contract which includes the sighting systems, spares, documentation and three years of support.

These new weapons will be employed by the Infantry, Special Forces and RAAF Airfield Defence Guards.
