Swedish company SAAB has received an order from the South Korean company LIG Nex1 Co. Ltd worth MSEK$ 450 Million to deliver ARTHUR (Artillery Hunting Radar) weapon locating systems to the South Korean Army service.

The systems have been contracted by the South Korean DAPA (Defence Acquisition Program Administration) procurement agency to LIG Nex1 Co. Ltd which is the prime contractor for the ARTHUR systems. The first ARTHUR order from South Korea came in 2007.

ARTHUR is a stand alone C-band medium-range weapon locating system that detects and locates enemy fire. It utilises a passive phased-array antenna technology for optimised battlefield performance.

The ARTHUR system is widely used by customers around the world including Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, South Korea, Singapore, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom.
