The NAMSA (NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency) has completed the delivery of the 2000th TOW ITAS anti-tank missile firing system traversing units (Tube-launched Optically-tracked Wire-guided missile Improved Target Acquisition System).

Over the last seven years the NAMSA Rockets, Missiles, UAS, Combat Vehicles (LM) workshop has been producing the ITAS traversing units by modifying previous versions of the unit upgrading them to the new configuration.

The work is done in close cooperation with the original equipment manufacturer, Raytheon Network Centric Systems, acting on behalf of the US Government. The majority of the 2000 units produced so far were for the US (Army, National Guard and Marines), with some units also delivered to Portugal and Canada.

Portugal operates several TOW (tripod mounted, on M113A2 carrier and the M901 ITV) systems and has procured the TOW ITAS system for the Portuguese Army GDELS-Steyr GmbH PANDUR II anti-tank carrier variant.
