United Kingdom aerial target and unmanned aircraft system designer and manufacturer Universal Target Systems Ltd is to seal a partnership with Brazilian defence manufacturer OPTOVAC-Mecânica e Optoeletrônica Ltda for joint production of the MSAT-500 NG missile subsonic aerial target system and other products specifically for anticipated future requirements for the Brazilian defence and security market.

MSAT-500 NG can be utilised to simulate the threat of attacking enemy aircraft, missiles and drones. MSAT-500 NG is in service with several countries including Bangladesh, Pakistan and South Corea said a company spokesperson to PoADU.

The Vigilant unmanned aircraft system from Universal Target Systems Ltd is is aiming to become Brazil’s mini-unmanned aircraft system of choice for home land security.

Brazilian company Embraer SA has chosen ELEB Equipamentos Ltda to develop and produce the landing gear of the KC-390 military transport aircraft.

The company was selected to develop and produce the entire landing gear system, and will be responsible for designing a robust and reliable system that will ensure operations with the heavy payloads of large-capacity logistical missions, and with the demanding conditions of semi-prepared airfields.

SELEX Galileo SpA, a subsidiary of Italian Finmeccanica will focus at LAAD Defence & Security 2001 the Raven ES-05 active electronically scanned array radar installed on the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen NG combat aircraft which has been proposed to the Brazilian Air Force FX-2 project.
